I’ve a query – my router all of the sudden stopped working in the present day, it is WPA2 protected and couldn’t join. Powercycled each router and modem just a few occasions after which it began to say flawed encryption methodology, and accepted WEP, however would nonetheless not join.
So, I linked on to a router port through ethernet to entry the router admin web page and wouldn’t join.
So I find yourself manufacturing unit resetting and capable of entry router admin. I alter the admin credentials and assign new title/pw to 2.4ghz community, and do nothing to the 5G. A couple of minute later I log again into the admin console and see somebody is linked to 5G community and despatched/acquired 6000 packets. Though, the standing stated ‘STA-ASSOC’ which apparently means somebody making an attempt to attach? To check this – I deliberately tried connecting to the 5G with a foul password and it confirmed me as linked for not more than 5 seconds and despatched not more than 5 packets. This leads me to imagine it was some type of brute pressure methodology sending so many packets and being concurrently linked in a state of ‘STA-ASSOC’.
Is somebody making an attempt to hack into my community? What kind of assault is it and what can I do to substantiate and sniff them out? May they’ve accessed something? No clue, why somebody needs to hack me if that is so. I walked up and down the block to see if anybody was shut by – however did not see anybody, which makes me assume it could possibly be a neighbor?
Here’s a screenshot.
