I wasn’t considering and despatched some messages and photos to the fallacious group chat. I’ve iOS 16, and I feel most everybody else does on it. I didn’t see unsend, so I simply deleted them.

The group chat I despatched them to isn’t very lively, so I questioned if as soon as they open it, there could be nothing there. I heard that it probably will nonetheless present up for them, however I hoped they wouldn’t. Does anybody know if they are going to see them?

Sadly, they are going to see (or have already) these messages.

Deleting a message solely impacts the messages on your system, not your recipientes. You have to use unsend or edit (iOS 16 and later). Per Apple Help: Deleting Messages on iPhone:

Observe: Deleting messages modifications solely your individual Messages conversations, not these of your recipients. To retract a message you despatched unintentionally, use undo ship as an alternative.

Even should you have been to attempt to unsend your message, you solely have two minutes to take action and quarter-hour to edit it. As these limits have undoubtedly handed, these messages have been delivered. SMS (non-iMessage) messages can’t be unsent nor edited.
